Leipzig traditionally opens the nationwide Interkulturelle Woche (Intercultural Week) with "Leipzig feiert Vielfalt". The program includes a festive marketplace from noon with local initiatives and organizations, greetings from Leipzig's Culture Mayor at 14:30, an ecumenical service at 17:00 led by Orthodox, Catholic and Lutheran representatives with music from organist Johannes Lang and ensemble "Klänge der Hoffnung", and a concert by the band Batiar Gang at 19:00.
